Boracay Day1

My first time to visit Boracay! Thanks to my team for organizing this outing. We stayed at La Carmela Resort Boracay at Station 2. They offer competitive packages for travellers. I was not  satisfied with their service when we checked-in.. we waited for more than an hour before we got the keys.

Davao Trip 2010: Day 4

We woke up around 6:30am to fix our stuffs and went out to buy pasalubong. We ate breakfast at Jollibee and headed straight to Bangkerohan. Bangkerohan is a public wet market in Davao City. After Bangkerohan, we walked our way to the Munisipyo and Saint Peter's Church. Around 9am, we walked to Aldevinco Shopping Center at C.M Recto street. We bought  Durian ref magnets for 3 for Php100, Durian keychains for php20, sarong for Php150, banig for Php130, Davao t-shirt for Php130, pearl earrings for php80/pair, pearl bracelet for Php150, and handkerchiefs, i forgot the price. After Aldevinco, we went to SM City Davao to buy Lola Abon's durian candies, yemas and mangosteen candies. We also tried the famous Durian Coffee at Blugre Coffee Shop. It was yummy.. a must try! We went back to the hotel to checkout. We got a taxi and stopped by at the Magsaysay Fruits Stand. We bought Pomelos, Durians, Lanzones, and Mangosteens. After that, we headed to the airport for our flight.

Davao city is a beautiful place, I will come back next year to visit Eden Nature park, Philippine Eagle, the Pearl Farm at Samal Island, and also to try the white water rafting. Thanks Kuya Rodel and Yvonne for the invite. I super enjoyed the trip. =D

Davao Trip 2010: Day 3

On the 3rd day, around 3pm, we visited the Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao and Crocodile Farm and Jack's Ridge. We haven't visited the Butterfly Farm and the Zorg's Ball because it was already late. After the Crocodile Farm we went straight to Jack's Ridge. There are a lot of restaurants in Jack's Ridge. Unfortunately, we didn't had a chance to dine because the uncle wanted  to dine and  sing at World Palace videoke.

Davao Trip: Day 2 - The Wedding Day

2nd day in Davao, we woke up early, had breakfast at Jollibee and prepare for the wedding. We went to Marco Polo hotel for my bf's  tux and pictorial with the Groom. But before we went to the Groom's suite, we decided to eat lunch. There were 5 restaurants/bar that you can choose at Marco Polo Hotel, namely :
  • Cafe Marco
  • Lobby Lounge
  • Eagles Bar
  • Lotus Court
  • Polo Bistro Pool Lounge
At Cafe Marco, they serve an Eat-all-you-can Buffet which cost Php750 per head. The Pool Lounge is beautiful and relaxing. The Lobby Lounge's ambience is warm and cozy same with the Lotus Court. We chose Lotus Court because it is much cheaper.. tipid mode.. hahaha! Anyway, we ordered Sweet and Sour Pork Rice Toppings, beef soup, hot and sour soup, Siomai, Dumplings and 2  Lotus Court's Signature Iced tea. The foods were delicious plus I love the service of their waiters and waitresses.. very friendly, warm, accommodating and quick. bravo!!!

After our lunch, we went to the Groom's Suite for the tux and pictorial. The wedding was held at Saint Paul Church. The wedding ceremony started at 4pm.

a photo after the wedding ceremony

The wedding reception was held at Sunny Point Function Plaza. There were a lot of gimiks at the reception such as a Hawaiian dance, space shuttle, a very huge cake and etc. The singers were also great.. what a powerful voice for the girl who sung "The Prayer"! Overall, I enjoyed the wedding celebration and the choco fountain.

After the reception, we went to World Palace for videoke. The available room  was  the North Pole. That was the first time I heard my Bf sings.. in fairness, he has the voice. Especially when he sung  "I Can't Smile Without You" by Barry Manilow.. Kaka-in Love!

Anyway, my message to the newly weds, Mr. and Mrs. Abalajon:

Congratulations Kuya Rodel and Yvonne!!! =)
May God bless your marriage.
Let love never leaves your house and happiness stays to both of  you forever!

Davao Trip 2010: Day 1

Me and my bf went to Davao to attend a friend's wedding. We stayed for 4 days from August 27 to August 30,2010. We arrived at the Davao Airport around 8am via Philippine Airlines. Kuya Rodel and his Ate Bingbing picked us up at the airport. From the airport, we went straight to the Bridal Couture for the fitting of my bf's tux.

The Groom with his Bestman

After fitting, we went to SM City Davao to eat lunch. We ate at Bigby's Cafe and Restaurant. I ordered for a  Baby Back Ribs; grilled porkchop and Kamikaze Skewers for my bf and Chicken Basket for Kuya Rodel. The Babyback ribs tasted so good and tender. The sauce was also great.. the taste was a mix of sweet, spicy and bbq sauce with smokey flavor and aroma. The Porkchop was also good and tender. The  Kamikaze Skewers were a mix of mushrooms, shrimp balls  and I forgot the other one. The Chicken Basket was so crispy and juicy. The servers were very friendly and accomodating.

After our lunch, me and my bf explore the SM CIty and bought some stuffs from the Supermarket. While Kuya Rodel went ahead to the dentist for cleaning. It was around 1pm when Ate Bingbing, Ate Lapay and Ate Madz arrived at the SM. Me and my bf were so sleepy coz we only slept for 2 hours before we depart from Manila Centennial Airport. Before going to the hotel, Ate Bingbing treated us at Mandarin Restaurant, it is also located at SM City. They served Chinese foods. We ordered pork Siomai, dumplings, sharksfin, chicken feet,  fruit salads and almond jellies. It all tasted good except for the Chicken feet. I haven't tried it because I dont eat Chicken feet. Sorry, I didn't took photos of our orders because I was too sleepy and tired.. my energy was so low.
After our 2nd round of lunch, we went to the hotel. Kuya Rodel reserved us at the My Hotel located at San Pedro Street, Davao City. The accommodation is so affordable and the room was clean and decent enough for me although there was no ref, no free breakfasts but it was OK. Finally, we had a chance to rest and sleep. We woke up around 9pm and tried to order dinner at the hotel's resto but unfortnately the resto was already closed. So we went out to eat. Strolling around San Pedro street, we saw a lot of Jollibee stores, banks such as BPI, metrobank and etc. We explored some streets within the vicinity and found out that there were a lot of places to eat such as Mang Inasal, Jollibee, McDonalds, Chowking, Greenwich, Dunkin Donuts, Mandarin Resto, Kusina de Dabaw and etc. If you need to buy medicines, there's a Mercury drug along San Pedro street. The Munisipyo is also located in San Pedro.  Along the sidewalk, at night, we saw a lot of  fruit vendors. The Lanzones only cost Php15/kilo, Durian for Php30/Kilo and Mangosteen for Php25/Kilo. There's also a live Band too. The hotel's location was great and I think it's safe to walk around. The  common language at Davao City is Bisaya, good thing I know a little bit of it.

Singapore Trip 2010: Strolling around the City

On my 5th day at Singapore, I went to Bugis to buy some pasalubong stuffs and visit the Bugis Temple to pray. I found a lot of good stuffs at Bugis market and I was able to eat Wall's icecream bar in Ube Flavor while strolling around. The Auntie was friendly during that time. hahaha! After Bugis, me and my kuya went straight to Vivo City to meet my former boss. Before we meet my boss, we ate dinner at Yoshinoya. I ordered Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl and Iced Milo. While my kuya go for Beef Rice Bowl. Singapore's Yoshinoya tasted much much better than our Yoshinoya in Manila. I wonder why?

After our dinner we met my boss. My kuya went home and left his one mobile phone for me. Me and my boss went to Ikea our first stop for that night. Ikea Singapore is big and has lots of stuffs to offer. My eyes were so overwhelmed with all the furniture for small spaces. I got some ideas on how I will design my small house. After Ikea, we went straight to Clark Quay for dinner again. We planned to go for a boat ride but it was late already. We walk around the area. We went to the restaurants beside the river, I saw crabs.. very huge crabs! We went to Fullerton hotel, view the Sea lion, Singapore Flyer, Amphitheater and the great Marina Sands. We stopped by at Coffee bean to rest and enjoyed the view. Below is a summary photo collage of my strolling adventures from Clark Quay to Coffee Bean. Pardon for the pics.. my camera really sucks when taking pictures at night time.

I went back to Manila last July 10, 2010. I super enjoyed my vacation and I was very happy to see my kuya (eldest) again.. we haven't seen each other for 15 years. Thank you so much Kuya Jovy! You're blessed because you're a blessing to others. Our family here in the Philippines loves you. Be safe always! okidoki! ;)

I would also like to thank my former boss.. Ma'am Consuelo for accompanying me on my 5th day at Singapore.. thank you! Thank you!

So that's all my friends! One of my wishes came true.. I already visited Singapore! Yehey!

Thank you Papa Jesus! ^_^

Singapore Trip 2010: Sentosa

Before going to Sentosa, I bought a McDonald's Strawberry milkshake at Choa Cho Kang and a frozen yogurt at Vivo City. Sorry I forgot the name of the yogurt store. The milkshake was creamy and refreshing. Same with the yogurt but Red Mango's yogurt is much better in my opinion.

After those refreshing desserts, I went to visit Sentosa with my Kuya to watch Songs of the Sea. It was so amazing! The laser show was so awesome plus the beautiful fireworks. I believe there's a similar show in our country, it was just opened lately in our Manila Ocean Park. Anyway, it's so unfortunate because I wasn't able to buy tickets to Universal Studios. Well, that will be my next itinerary when I get back to Singapore next year for vacation. By the way, there's a new attraction named iFly but it is still under construction. It will be open on the 2nd half of 2010. iFly is the world's largest skydiving simulator. Hmmmm.. coolness! I want to try it but on a second thought.. can I afford it???

Singapore Trip 2010: Singapore Zoo

I visited Singapore Zoo on my 2nd day at Singapore. Glad that my kuya has a discount privilege given by his company. Singapore Zoo was so big.. It's better if you have a bottled water, and wear comfortable clothes and foot wear because you're gonna walk a lot and the weather is humid. I was so very excited. It was my first time to see a real Polar Bear.. It was so Big and Cute! I also had a chance to watch the elephant show and feed an elephant for Sgd5. The proboscis Monkey is a really weird animal because of its nose. The White Tiger... ooohhh.. I was scared when I saw them. My kuya told me that there was an incident at the Singapore Zoo where one of its employees has been eaten by the White Tiger. You can check You Tube for videos. The sea lion, walrus, and penguins show was also great! The featured sea lion was so talented and witty. Overall, I enjoyed strolling and watching animal shows at Singapore Zoo. It's a must place to visit for tourist like me especially if you have a kid with you. ^_^

By the way, I don't like the KFC at Singapore Zoo. I should have tried to eat at Ameng instead.

Singapore Trip 2010: Itinerary

I went to Singapore last July 3 to July 9, 2010. Unfortunately on my 1st day, me and my kuya went to Choa Cho Kang to visit Uncle Albert. Also, I missed to visit Universal Studios because the tickets were already sold out so I had to do some adjustments on my itinerary. uhhmm.. I would like to suggest that you should always bring a bottled water while strolling around Singapore . Below is my original itinerary for my vacation:
  • 1st day - Jurong bird park, strolling around orchard, lucky plaza, paragon, etc..
  • 2nd day - Singapore Zoo/night safari
  • 3rd day - Vivo city/Universal Studios (not done.. sadness)
  • 4th day - Vivo city/strolling around Sentosa, watch songs of the sea

Singapore Trip 2010: Ais Kacang

Uncle Albert (a Singaporean) treated me a sweet dessert named Ais Kacang. It is Singapore's version of Philippines' Halo-Halo . The ingredients are Aloe Vera, sugar cane syrup, sweet corn, red beans, colorful shaved ice, jellies, milk and I don't know the rest.. ahahaha! The taste was a bit weird but it's delicious.

Thanks Uncle Albert! I'll visit you again in Choa Cho Kang on my next vacation at Singapore.

Singapore Trip 2010: Brunch at Day 1

My kuya brought me to Singapore's famous food store.. Hawkers at Bukhit Timah. I ordered Pork Char Siuw and Iced Milo. I was surprised with their big servings. And oh my.. it was so delicious! or maybe I'm a bit biased because I love to eat Chinese foods. The food prices at Hawkers are so affordable for a Tourist like me.

Very Affordable + Big Servings = Super OK! ;D

** Pardon for the installment post of my Singapore Trip 2010 photos, I'm so busy at work. I just really want to share with you my adventures.

My Anawangin shots

I just want to share some of my photos when me and my LMS teammates went to do island hopping last May 22,2010. We visited Camara Island, Capones Lighthouse and Anawangin cove. Below are some photos of Anawangin cove. All shots were taken using my Sony Cybershot DSC-W120. The place really amazes me.. a mystical beauty indeed. I done some minor editing to enhance the photos using Photoshop.

Subic 2009

I, my bf and his two cutee younger sisters had a 3 day vacation at Subic last August 2009.We stayed at Seorabeol hotel located at Waterfront Road. It has two swimming pools, function rooms, restaurant and a souvenir shop. The beach was just across the waterfront road. Walking around, you could see Gerry's grill, casinos, Korean restaurants, and hotels by the beach like the Lighthouse hotel.

Restaurants that we visited were Gerry's grill, Meat Plus Cafe, Xtremely Xpresso Cafe and of course, Jollibee. We had our lunch at Gerry's grill. We ordered pork sisig, molo soup and grilled squid. Yumyum! We had our dinner at Meat Plus Cafe for the 1st night and Xtremely xpresso Cafe for the 2nd night.

Meat Plus Cafe is located at Samson road, SBF. Meat Plus is a famous resto in Subic based from the forums that I've read. They serve different kinds of steaks. Prices are affordable. Pardon for the photos, I forgot the food's name and their prices. But all of them are yummy! We enjoyed eating at Meat Plus Cafe.

Xtremely Xpresso Cafe is located at #1 Dewey Ave., Subic Bay Freeport zone.
They serve steaks, chickens, fish, cakes, crepes and coffees. When we arrived, a lot of people having their dinner, so we waited to have a table. Some photos:

In my opinion, Meat plus is better than Xtremely Xpresso. But if you'll go to Subic, you should visit these two restos. By the way, Jollibee in Subic is a wow! Why? The chicken joy is big! Twice the size of the chicken joy in Makati. We love Jollibee! Below is a photo of my bf's younger sister with Jollibee. =)
